Get to Know Your Artist
How I got here…
I have loved drawing since I was young. I grew up in my grandparent’s home and my first inspirations for art came from finding the drawings left behind by my uncles. At a young age I was introduced to tattoos and really fell in love with the American traditional art form.
Just pen on paper is how I did things for a long time. Art can be an expensive investment, so I got really good at creating smooth and straight lines, and free-handing designs. Eventually, I met my wife (who is also a very talented artist), and we spent a lot of time together on art.
My wife is the one who encouraged and pushed me to become a tattoo artist. I vocalized frequently that it was a dream of mine, and If I didn’t have her to believe and invest in me, I possibly would have never gone through the program to become a tattoo artist.
I did my program at Lifetime Tattoo for 9 months and now tattoo out of Lifetime in Springfield, Or. I completed the program September 2022 and got my license from the state immediately after. I began tattooing and taking walk-ins the next day. In Oregon, there is a state board that regulates the education and licensure of tattooing. You must fulfill specific requirements while being overseen by state recognized instructors.
I was an EMT prior to tattooing. I worked in that profession fulltime for 5 years. I still maintain my licensing, but my fulltime attention is dedicated to becoming the best tattoo artist I can be. I spend my free time expanding my education on tattooing and running my own business.
